Pupil Premium/ Catch up Funding Strategy Statement
Schools are required to publish details of the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) allocated to their school and the impact this has on achievement and attainment.
The PPG was introduced in 2011 and is allocated to schools to work with children who have been registered for Free School Meals at any point in the last six years (known as Ever 6). The Grant is paid for every child who is entitled to receive the benefit of Free School Meals (FSM), regardless of whether they take up the free school meal or bring their own lunch.
We would encourage all parents to check their entitlement benefit and if you are entitled to Free School Meals then please make sure that you claim the benefit as the school will also receive extra funding as a result. Please also let us know if you are new to the school and your child has received Free School Meals in the past as your child will be eligible for the grant. Please contact the school office for further information or advice.
Under the PPG school also receives funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, and the children of service personnel. OFSTED (September 2012) commented that, ‘The school supplements the extra funding it receives for pupils whose home circumstances might result in educational disadvantage. It uses its resources well to ensure that these pupils have the same full access to learning opportunities as their classmates. These pupils make at least good progress.’
