More About Us

We are a two form entry Church of England primary school of 420 children. Most of our children live within walking distance of the school.

St. Michael’s has a long, illustrious history which has seen many changes over the years.

Our school was founded in 1858 and our building is a skilful blend of old and new with a substantial extension completed in 2011 to accommodate Year 5 and 6 children, who were previously taught at the original site in Dean’s Croft across from St Michael’s Church, known as the annex.

At St. Michael’s we’re dedicated to providing an exciting learning experience for all of our children. This experience, rooted in Christian values, encourages the children to be the best that they can. We recognise every child as an individual, with their own unique talents.  We work hard to create a happy, secure and inclusive school in which every child feels valued and respected – with opportunities to learn for all.

In fact, it’s the experience the children enjoy at school, which helps them to become the people they are!
