Curricular and Extra-curricular Enrichment

Curricular Enrichment

At St. Michael’s, we believe in the importance of developing the whole child both within and beyond the classroom. As such, our classroom curriculum is enriched through inclusion of trips, external visitors coming into school and residential provision.

Residential Provision

Residential trips provide children with the opportunity to express themselves in a different environment, tackling new challenges and honing new skills. The experience of staying away from home and parents encourages children to develop their independence ready for the next phase of school.

Our residential trips are always the highlight of the year for many of our children; mixing with children across the year group helps to nurture new friendships. Our residential provision is progressive across KS2 to build gradually up to spending more nights further away from home.

Year 3One night overnight stay on school site
Year 4Two nights stay away from school site
Year 5Three nights stay away from school site
Year 6Four nights trip to France alongside other ATLP Primary Schools

Extra-curricular enrichment

At St. Michael’s, we provide a range of extra-curricular clubs for children to participate in. These range from sporting clubs such as football and netball to creative clubs such as art, drama and crochet.

Details of extra-curricular clubs are shared with parents via email throughout the school year.

Please follow our school X feed (formerly know as Twitter) for pictures and details shared about our enrichment opportunities.
