Our Values and Community

Here at St Michael’s our Christian values underpin our community life.  Each day we aspire to live our our values and you can see some examples of how we do this below by clicking on the links:

Overview St Michael’s Vision and Values

Belonging

‘Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.  You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.’  Psalm 73:23-28

Friendship

‘A friend loves at all times.’ Proverbs 17:17

Respect

‘So in everything you do to others what you would have them do to you.’ Matthew 7:12

Perseverance

‘Stand firm and you will win life.’  Luke 21:19

Courage

‘Be on your guard.  Stand firm in faith.  Be courageous.  Be strong.  Do everything in love.’  Corinthians 16:13 – 14

Forgiveness

‘Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else.’  Colossians 2:12-13

As a school we have challenged ourselves to be ‘Courageous Advocates’.  Courageous advocates ask big questions about life and seek to challenge disadvantage, deprivation and the exploitation of the natural world.  Our main projects include:

  • Supporting Lichfield Foodbank at Harvest time, Christmas and just before the Summer holiday.  In Lichfield an average of 3 families a day need support from the foodbank.
  • Sharing our love and passion for music with the Lichfield Memory Café, based at the Methodist Church, with groups of children visiting each term
  • Enabling the Kadawa Village School, Kenya to grow and flourish.  Through our partnership with Life Church Lichfield we have raised money for playground equipment and now we are focusing on enabling the school to get on-line and have computers.
  • A wholes school project, championed by our School Council, to reduce our consumption of single use plastics both in school and the local community.  Our School Council Champions took their campaign to St Michael’s Church and Key Stage 2 were lead participants in Lichfield Cathedral’s Climate Action Day (September 2019).

We are proud of our Christian distinctiveness and our relationship with St Michael’s Church, other local Churches and the Cathedral.  Every 5 years we are inspected as a Church school (SIAMS).
